Akilah Muhammad, 20
Akilah Muhammad was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Sis. Akilah is currently a junior in college with a major in pre-podiatry and aspires to become a world renowned podiatrist. Sis. Akilah also stated, "I love being a member of the NOI! [Nation of Islam]" I chose to interview Akilah Muhammad because of the way she makes modesty her own. As you can see her outfits are well put together, fashion forward and most importantly modest! Sis. Akilah is an excellent example of what modesty looks like.
During Sis. Akilah's interview I asked her the following questions, "What are your experiences in school and/or in your everyday life with being modest? How do you make modesty work for you and what are some tips you can give to others? Here is her answer...
"Modesty to me is just expressing your individuality without showing your body. Modesty is loving yourself enough to not show yourself. I love being able to put different prints and patterns together and making it something totally new and different. Modesty is an everyday struggle for some but once you get used to covering your body it becomes natural. Who said you can't be cute and modest? (smile)."
Thank you Sis. Akilah for taking time out of your day to share your experiences with us and allowing me to feature you on my blog! I pray Allah (God) continues to bless you in your endeavors!
