Modesty vs. Immodesty...Who's coming home to meet the parents?
Last week we heard from the young men but this week we're going to hear from the young women! Who would a woman prefer to introduce to her father? Would it be a respectable, debonair, classy man like Idris Elba? Or would it be someone like Lil Wayne who is disrespectful to women, raunchy and vulgar? Who???
I have to quote Bro. Jerard X again, "only an immodest woman likes an immodest man and vice versa." What you are/think is what you will attract. When you see an indecent man 99.99999% of the time he will be with an immodest woman. A real woman wants a man she can be proud to take home to meet her father. A man that she would be proud to have a son by. When you take a man to meet your parents you would expect him to dress appropriately.
Along with the word woman, man is also used too loosely. Being a man is so much more than just being gender specific. To be a man means that you're striving to uphold your manly duties. But what are these duties? A man strives to protect, provide and love his woman and family, he strives to set an example for young men to teach them to how to be a real man, his strength has the potential to inspire the masses. Although modesty isn't just about the way you dress it is important because that is the first thing people notice about you. Men, if you are trying to apply for a respectable job and you're wearing an extra large shirt and sagging your pants they will turn you away before you can even get to the door, but if you're wearing a nice shirt with business casual pants you would be taken more seriously. Of course, you don't have to wear a suit and tie 24/7 but just pull your pants up and wear a decent casual shirt. That, is modesty.
Dress your mentality!
Men and women want someone who will match their fly both mentally and physically. It's a package deal. What decent, respectable woman who is striving to uphold her womanly duties wants someone like Lil Wayne!? None! Like I said earlier, it is not only the way you dress that defines modesty it is also your mindset. If you want better be better.
I encourage everyone both men and women to give their opinion on this topic and the previous topics. Just post a comment right below this article! Please keep your comments respectable and refrain from using any profanity. Thank you!

Marcellus Pennington speaks on Modesty vs Immodesty...
Marcellus Pennington is 20 years old and is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a processing member of the Nation of Islam and attends Muhammad Mosque Number 82.
Bro. Marcellus was asked to give his views on this weeks topic, "Modesty vs. Immodesty...Who's coming home to meet the parents?"
"The value of modesty can be determined by what the scarceness of it has produced. As The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches us, where there are no good women there will never be any good men. Why? Because women are the moral standards of society. Some people tend to think that modesty is simply covering up your adornments, but it’s much deeper than that. Modesty, like Islam is a way of life. It’s in your mannerism, your demeanor, your words and even how you present those words. With that being said we know that all good things have their polar opposites! Immodesty is currently the order of the day. Sisters nowadays walk around not just half nude, but nude in some cases! Anytime you’re not wearing under garments you’re technically nude even if you have on a gown or a thin piece of clothing. There’s no shame in our sister’s game nowadays. How can any man think righteously when you have women parading around like that? A brother can act as godly as he wants to, but let any woman, especially a good looking black woman, walk past him letting it all hang out and his gaze is as good as stolen. It has gotten to a point now that being that that’s all that brother’s see they think that's all there is. They think that is acceptable even though deep down they know it isn’t. I would more than likely be the same way were it not for the teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. I am now of the mindset that anything other than modesty is unacceptable. I wouldn’t dream of presenting any woman to my mother that did not have any self-respect. Because if you don’t respect yourself others don’t stand a chance."
Thank you Bro. Marcellus for your words and allowing me to feature you on my blog! I pray Allah (God) continues to bless you in your endeavors!
